Thieme, Leroy H. (19 AUG 1938 - 17 NOV 2015)
Leroy H. Thieme, age 77, passed away Tuesday, November 17 at the Aspirus Medford
Hospital where he was taken earlier by ambulance.
Per Leroy’s request, no services will be held.
He was born on August 19, 1938 in Medford, and was a graduate of Rib Lake High
School.
Leroy was married October 8, 1960, at St. Peter Church in Stratford, to Shirley
A. (Hahn) Thieme. She proceeded in death on August 5, 2013.
He worked for Simplicity Manufacturing in Port Washington for 8 years. The
Medford Feed Store for a period of time. He then worked at Merrill Manufacturing
and then drove truck for various companies until his retirement. He enjoyed
flying his Ultra-Light Airplane and riding his Harley for many years. He also
enjoyed country music where he had his own band called the Lonesome Two with
Myron Peche, playing rhythm guitar and lead singer. Leroy built a cabin for his
wife, Shirley where they lived for 20 years.
Leroy is survived by two daughters, Candy (Ed) Parks of Athens; Kim (Jon) Lanius
of Rib Lake; grandchildren Anna (Todd) Bowholtz of Stevens Point; Aaron (Rachel)
Parks of Stetsonville; Amanda (significant other Jeremiah Tietz) Parks of
Wausau; Matthew Parks of Medford; Ashley (Jeremia) Nowak of Curtiss; Courtney
(James) Cook of Rib Lake; and eight great grandchildren.
He is also survived by a brother, Clarence Thieme of Abbotsford; many nieces,
nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Leroy is predeceased by his parents, Arthur W. and Dorothea M. (Lissner) Thieme;
and sibling, Gloriette Peche.
Hemer Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake is assisting the family with
arrangements.
