Plisch, Louise (22 SEP 1885 – 29 APR 1957)
Mrs. Christ Keiner, daughter Louise, Mrs. Hugh Severson and daughter Carol, and
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keiner attended the funeral of their sister and aunt, Mrs.
Edwin O. Plisch, held at Athens. Funeral services were held on Thursday
afternoon, May 2, 1957 at the Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church. The Rev.
V.O. Grossheusch, pastor of the Colby Evangelical and Reformed Church,
officiated. Burial was made in the Athens Cemetery.
Mrs. Plisch, nee Louis Romang, daughter of Gottfried and Clise (Steffen) Romang,
was born sept. 22, 1885 in Black Creek Falls (now Athens). She was married to
Albert Michel in 1905. He was killed in a train accident in 1907. She married
Edwin O. Plisch Aug. 8, 1911. They have resided in Athens the past 37 years.
Mrs. Plisch was a member of the Athens Royal Neighbor Camp. She was an invalid
following a stroke May 8, 1956, and died at her home April 29, 1957.
Surviving are the widower; a daughter by her first marriage, Mrs. Rose Leyer of
Chicago; two step-sons, Franklin Plisch, Morris, Ill., Almon Plisch of Green
Bay; a step-daughter, Mrs. Erna Touhy of Wausau; 8 grandchildren and 3
great-grandchildren; two brothers, Emanuel Romang and August Romang of Athens,
and a sister, Mrs. Christ (Elice) Keiner of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.).
She was preceded in death by a son, Clarence, who was killed in France in World
War I. Another son, Edwin, was killed in a tractor accident on the home farm in
December 1955; two brothers, Gottfried Romang in November 1952, and Charles
Romang in September 1948.
