Letsch, Barbara C. (27 November 1894 - 30 April 1974)

Funeral services are to be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Mrs. Barbara C. Letsch of Memorial Home who died Tuesday, April 30, at the age of 79. The Rev. Charles D. Brady will officiate and burial will be made in the parish cemetery. The Rosary will be recited this (Thursday) evening at 8:30 p.m. at the Georgas Funeral Home, where the body of Mrs. Letsch will be in state beginning at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Letsch, the daughter of John and Kathryn (Schill) Markwardt was born November 27, 1894, at Mineral Point. She received her education in Neillsville area schools. Following her July 5, 1922 marriage to Nicholas Letsch, which took place in Nei9llsville, she and her husband farmed in the Town of Pine Valley until 1952 when they retired and moved to the city. Mr. Letsch preceded his wife in death in February of 1963. Mrs. Letsch was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was an honorary member of its PCCW.

Surviving are two children, Mrs. Bernard (Ann) Scheffer of Humbird and Francis Letsch of Ventura, Ca.; a sister, Mrs. Clara Tobin of Greenwood; a brother, Henry Markwardt of Neillsville; and 14 grandchildren.
