Pleasant Ridge Homemakers (2 May 1974)

A $5 donation to the American Cancer Society was voted at the April 25 meeting of the Pleasant Ridge homemakers club. Members met at the home of Mrs. George Kuehn, where the roll call question was: Is There an Energy Crisis and, if so, Who is Responsible?

Mrs. Harold York gave comments on Extension Homemaker day at Thorp and told of the Arts and crafts exhibit there. The club was pleased to receive honorable mention for the traveling trophy award.

A report on the trip to the Milwaukee home show was given by Mrs. Gary Kuechenmeister. The group also visited the domes at the Mitchell Park Conservatory.

A thank you was read from Mrs. Delbert Bills regarding the money tree the club gave Mr. and Mrs. Bills for the 50th wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Theomore Vine presented the April project on the energy crisis.

The next meeting will be held May 22 at the home of Mrs. Ruben Hantke. Mrs. Irving Vine will be the project leader. Each club member is to bring a sample of June Dairy Month dessert bars, together with the recipe. The meeting opened with the homemakers’ creed and closed with the prayer creed.
