Rochester, N.Y., June 10, 1957 – John P. Olson, son of Dr. and Mrs. William A
Olson, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), received the Doctor of Medicine degree at
the University of Rochester's 107th commencement, Sunday, June 9, 1957. He was
among the 65 students, including 60 men and 5 women, at the University's School
of Medicine and Dentistry to be awarded the M.D.
Dr. Olson took his undergraduate work at Carleton College, Northfield, Minn.,
receiving the Bachelor of Arts degree in 1952. He will intern next year at North
Caroline Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
The speaker at the graduation exercises, at which 930 degrees were granted, was
Thomas E. Dewey, former Governor of the State of New York.
Dr. Wm. Olson and daughter Janet attended the graduation exercises.
