Jerry and Lee Laatch, owners of the A & W Restaurant in Neillsville, won the
“Pursuit of Excellence Award” at the A & W Mid-West Regional Convention held
recently at the Hyatt Inn in Minneapolis for the second year in a row.
Criteria for winning the award are maintaining high standards of quality food,
cleanliness, service and hospitality. This Award places the Neillsville A & W in

Camp Fire Winners (Pizza Sales - 1985)
An awards ceremony took place December 3, honoring winners of the Camp Fire
pizza sale contest. Tina Schoengarth claimed the top seller’s prize, followed by
2nd place Clarissa Peterson, 3rd place Carmen Follen and 4th place Carrie
Rakovec. Twenty-seven other Camp Fire members won prizes for their sales
efforts.

Scholarships Awarded to Local Students (1985)
Amy Weber. Neillsville, and Gary Grassman, Granton, received notification
recently that they have been awarded scholarships from the Aid Association for
Lutherans.
Miss Weber, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Richard Weber, was awarded an All-College
Scholarship.
Mr. Grassman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Grassman, has received a
Vocational-Technical School Scholarship.
As part of its fraternal commitment to enable Lutherans to help themselves and
others, Aid Association to Lutherans maintains one of the country’s largest
systems of private scholarships and grants.
