Greenwood (02 May 1974)
The birthday of Mrs. Willard Zimmendorf was celebrated Monday afternoon in Black
River apartments. Present were the residents and guests: Mrs. Eugene Antrim and
Mrs. Hastings Baird. The group signed a ‘get well’ card for Mrs. Flossie Thwing,
who was admitted Monday to Memorial Hospital in Neillsville. Miss Ruth Verhulst
showed slides and gave a travelogue on her work as a missionary in Malaya. A
potluck supper was served.
Mrs. Frank Bayuk returned Sunday evening after spending a week in Milwaukee with
her daughter, Miss Beverly Bayuk.
The spring United Church of Christ youth conference will be held in Stevens
Point May 3, 4 and 5.
The Adult Fellowship meeting will be held Sunday evening in the Immanuel United
Church. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Horn, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Humke and Mr. and Mrs. Le
Roy Fravert will be the hosts.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Verschay of La Crosse spent the weekend with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Werner Schaeffer, in Abbotsford, and with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Joe Verschay.
Mr. and Mrs. Duane Schaper of Onalaska were weekend guests of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Sam Grap.
Mrs. Casper Lindner entertained members of the Intersee Club Wednesday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mornson and family of Gordan, Mn, former Greenwood residents,
visited friends and attended the wedding of her niece, Meda Jean Felix, to
Jerome Krempasky Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Mrs. Erna Lemke of Neillsville spent Sunday at the home of her brother and
sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Grap.
Sunday evening guests of Mrs. Anna Verschay were Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Lehto and Mr
and Mrs. John Verschay of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Duane Schaper of Onalaska;
Miss Mary Jo Verschay of La Crosse; and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Verschay and Bill and
Jean, of Owen.
