Turnquist, Mr./Mrs. Arthur (Silver – 27 JUL 1957)
On Saturday, July 27, 1957, afternoon and evening, about 150 relatives and
friends helped Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Turnquist celebrate their silver wedding at
their home east of Greenwood.
Supper was served to guests from tables decorated with silver candles and three
wedding cakes, gifst of their son John, Mrs. Leo Olson, and Mrs. Orville Oswald
and their daughter, Carol.
Arthur Turnquist and Leona Olson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Olson, were
united in marriage at Trondheim Lutheran Church by the late Rev. M.K. Aaberg on
July 27, 1932.
The attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Meyer, cousins, now of Cameron, and Mr.
and Mrs. Carl Turnquist, brother and sister of the couple, of Greenwood. All
were here for the 25th celebration.
They have 14 children and two grandchildren, all of whom were present for the
occasion. They are Allen and wife and two children of Milwaukee; John Turnquist,
student at St. Olaf's College, Northfield, Minn.; James, who attends State
College at River Falls, Arlyn, who will enter State College at Eau Claire this
fall; Alice, Carol, Robert, Dennis, Billy, Mary Lou, Eugene, Herbert, Wayne and
Corrine Sue at home.
Other out of town guests were Mrs. Henry Bockowski, Chicago; Perry Pederson and
son, Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Pederson and family, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Lester
Abel, Kaukauna; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Schwarze, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rossow,
John Klein, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Nelson, Evelyn and Edith Nelson, Medford,
and Gerry Lee Haunschild, Eau Claire.
The honor couple received many lovely cards, flowers and gifts.
