Brown, Flossie (15 OCT 1907 – 9 AUG 1957)
Mrs. Howard Brown passed way at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, unexpectedly
at 8:15 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, 1957, following an operation she underwent on
the previous Monday.
Flossie Salzwedel, daughter of Mrs. Helma Salzwedel, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.),
was born on Oct. 15, 1907 in the Towno f Beaver, Clark Co., Wis. She received
her education in the Loyal schools.
On May 18, 1949 she was united in marriage to Howard Brown at Wis. Rapids. They
resided in Marshfield, where Mr. Brown passed away on Jan. 23, 1956. She
continued to make her home in Marshfield.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, Aug. 12th at 2:00 p.m. at the
Missionary Alliance Church, Marshfield. The Rev. Robert Gibson officiated.
Burial was made in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield.
She is survived by four children, Mrs. Norman (Joyce) Sommers, Eau Claire; Mrs.
Raymond (Gwen) Prust, Darlene Gerl and Edward Brown, Marshfield; her mother,
Mrs. Helma Salzwedel, Loyal; four sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Elsie) Tessmer,
Marshfield; Mrs. Lawrence (Violet) Mess, Mrs. Walter (Beulah) Johnson,
Rhinelander; Mrs. James (Ila) Englebretson, Greenwood, and a brother, Ira,
Rhinelander, and three grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, henry Salzwedel in
1936, and a brother, Lester, on June 11, 1957.
Among those who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. James Englebretson, Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Englebretson, Greenwood, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Englebretson,
Owen.
