Stoneburg, Louis Linton (10 APR 1890 – 27 JUL 1957)
Louis Linton Stoneburg4041 N.E. Summer, Portland, Oregon, son of Daniel
Stoneburg and Olive (Cox) Stoneburg, was born at Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) on
April 10, 1890.
On Jan. 23, 1915 he was united in marriage to Hazel M. Syth at Neillsville, Wis.
They resided in Montana until 1926, when they moved to Greenwood, where Mr.
Stoneburg was employed as a carpenter. In 1943 they moved to Portland, Oregon.
Mr. Stoneburg passed away at his home on Saturday, July 27, 1957. Services were
held in the Drawing Room Chapel of the Colonial Mortuary on July 30, 1957 at
2:30 p.m. During the service the songs "God Will Take Care of You" and
"Whispering Hope" were sung by Don Sherman, soloist.
The pallbearers were Gerald Carter, Keith Syth, Edward Arends, Orland Boyce,
Irvin Bollinger and Howard De Grasse.
Mr. Stoneburg is survived by hiw wife, two daughters, Mrs. John (Wilma) Boyce,
Portland, Oregon and Mrs. Tom (Joyce) Behrens, Greenwood, Wisconsin; five
grandchildren, Johana, Constance and Bonnie Boyce, Portland, Ore.; James and Jan
Behrens, Greenwood, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Charlotte) Francis, Medford,
Ore., and Mrs. Wm. (Helen) Syth, Noxon, Montana; one brother, Edward Stoneburg,
Roslyn, Wash.; one half-brother and three half-sisters of Marshfield, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers.
Concluding services were held at Rose City Cemetery.
