Hutchinson, Norma J. (7 January 1924 - 28 November 2015)
Norma J. Hutchison, 91, passed away peacefully Nov. 28, 2015, at Golden Living
Center - Three Oaks in Marshfield. She was born Jan. 7, 1924, to N. J. and Ruth
(Hankes) Nielsen in Poplar, MT, and was adopted by Edward and Emma (Nielsen)
Lindquist. She moved to Sherwood Township from Nebraska in 1937.
A 1941 graduate of Neillsville High School, she trained as a Red Cross nurse’s
aide at Rockford Hospital, Rockford, IL, and attended the University of Iowa.
She married Robert W. Hutchison in 1943; they were divorced in 1953.
She worked as a caregiver and dental assistant in Omaha, NE, and a dietician
assistant at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Madison. She returned to
Sherwood in 1975. In 2008, she moved into assisted living at Young at Heart in
Marshfield and to the Delaney Home in Pittsville in 2012. A devoted mother, she
enjoyed gardening, classical music and spending time with family. She was a
Catholic.
She is survived by her daughter, Leslie (Kenneth) Fraze of Inverness, FL;
granddaughter, Shannon Muchow (Michael Baker) of Studio City, CA; two
step-grandsons: Russell Fraze of Lawrenceville, GA, and Andrew (Melissa) Fraze
of Ormond Beach, FL; four step-great-grandsons: Andrew, Eric, Nathan and Joshua;
and cousin Claire Tornwall of Gainesville, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and adoptive parents; ex-husband; and
son, Marc Hutchison.
Funeral arrangements were by Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield.
A memorial will be held at a later date, and burial will be at Poplar Cemetery
in Poplar, MT.
