Kieser, Lois Lena (20 November 1932 - 21 December 2015)
Lois Kieser, 83, of Neillsville died Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at the Neillsville
Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Lois Lena Zimmerman was born Nov. 20, 1932, in Markesan, which is located in
Green Lake County. She was educated in rural schools and graduated from Green
Lake High School in 1950. She then attended Ripon College and graduated in 1954
with a major in English and a minor in French and history. Lois worked as a
teacher in Munsing, MI; Colby; and then Medford for two years. She was united in
marriage Aug. 11, 1957, to Frederick W. Kieser in Manchester. They moved to Eau
Claire, where she attended business classes at the Technical College for one
year. Their first child, Douglas, was born in Eau Claire in 1960, and they moved
to Neillsville in 1961. Brian, their second child, was born in 1962, and then
Lois stayed at home to raise her family. In 1970, she began working at the Clark
County Press. She worked there until 1977, when she went to work for the county
in Judge Brennan’s office. Lois retired in 1996.
She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville, and she was a
member of the Candlelight Homemakers Club. In her leisure time, she enjoyed
quilting, gardening and tending to her flowers.
She is survived by her husband, Frederick; two sons, Douglas Kieser of
Minneapolis, MN, and Brian Kieser of Edina, MN; and one granddaughter, Zelda
Grace Kieser.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial service for Lois will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at
the Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor Chad Anderson will officiate.
Music will be provided by Jodi Rueth, organist, and the Calvary Lutheran Church
Choir. Interment will be in the Markesan Cemetery, Markesan. Visitation will be
from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
