Finkle, Charles Elliott (27 AUG 1877 – 8 NOV 1957)
Charles Elliott Finkle was born Aug. 27, 1877 at Dodge City, Kansas, the oldest
son of the late George Samuel Finkle and Mary Ann (Elliott) Finkle. He came with
his parents to Greenwood (Clark Co.), Wis., in October 1893 and they settled on
a farm southeast of Greenwood.
At the age of nineteen he started doing electrical line work, which occupation
he followed the remainder of his working days. In November 1955 he fell from a
ladder and broke his back. Since then he was unable to work.
He passed away in his sleep at his home in Akron, Ohio on Friday, Nov. 8, 1957.
Funeral services were held at Akron, Ohio at 11:00 a.m. from the Hummel Funeral
Parlor. Burial was made in the Akron Cemetery. Rev. Cook officiated.
He is ssurvived by his wife and daughter Florence, who is in South America; and
three brothers, Edwin, Greenwood; Henry of Wheaton, Ill., and Harvey, address
unknown.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Finkle attended the funeral and were accompanied by Henry
Finkle of Wheaton, Ill.
