Gosse, Louis (22 MAY 1885 – 05 DEC 1968)
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. at the United
Church of Christ for Louis Gosse, who died early Thursday afternoon at his home
in the town of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.).
Rev. Kenneth Dix officiated. Mrs. Eugene Strathman was the organist, and Mrs.
Allen Duvall sang “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Let Me Go.”
Pallbearers were grandsons, Ambrose Schuh, Val Gene Fischer, Kenneth and Dennis
Ewert, Robert and Jeffrey Gosse, and Charles Krueger. Burial was made in the
Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Louis Gosse was born in Sheboygan County to the Former Ida Lube May 24, 1911,
and they lived on a farm west of Colby.
Survivors, besides his wife, include five daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Anita) Schuh
of Colby, Mrs. Edwin (Viola) Ewert of Wausau, Mrs. Alvin (Marion) Krueger of
Colby, Mrs. Alfred (Harriet) Laabs of Owen, and Mrs. Ray (Dorothy) Rodriguez of
Quantico, Va.; two sons, Herman of Colby and Melvin of Curtiss; 20
grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Adolph Sommer of
Cleveland, Wis., and a brother, Edward of Sheboygan.
