Pudlas, Fred, (7 OCT 1879 – 1 DEC 1968)
Fred Pudlas, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), died Sunday, Dec. 1, 1968 at St.
Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 4, with the Rev. Arnold Wooding
officiating, and burial was made in Pine Hill Cemetery at Curtiss.
Six grandsons served as pallbearers.
Pudlas was born Oct. 7, 1879 in Germany. He came to the United States at the age
of two with his parents, and settled in Illinois. On Oct. 28, 1908, he married
Lydia Potitz. After his marriage he worked as a carpenter at Aurora, Ill., until
1910, when he came to Curtiss to farm. He farmed until his retirement in 1950,
at which time he moved to the village of Curtiss.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Toivo (Grace) Kallio of rural Owen, 16
grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, John, and two daughters, Dorothy
and Esther.
