Janice P. Rolfe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Rolfe, Colby, and Dennis R.
Schmidt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerhardt Schmidt, Colby, were united in marriage
Saturday, Dec. 7, 1968, at a 7:30 p.m. ceremony at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby.
The Rev. David Pankow officiated.
Mrs. Bill Frome was the organist and Dr. Wayne Gaulke the soloist.
The matron of honor was a sister of the bride, Mrs. Paul Meleney of Des Moines,
Ia. Bridesmaids included Miss Judy Miller of Curtiss, Mrs. Michael Wiese of
Colby, and Mrs. Douglas Koffarnus of Marshfield.
The bridesmaids were attired in floor length gowns of blue crepe with empire
waistlines, with royal blue velvet bodices and bell sleeves. Their headpieces
were blue velvet bows and roses with pale blue tulle.
The best man was Douglas Koffarnus of Marshfield. The groomsmen were Michael
Wiese of Colby and Morris Wicker of Colby. Ushers were James Staffeil and Marvin
Smith.
Festivities of the day included a reception at the Colby City Hall immediately
following the ceremony.
Both the bride and groom are graduates of Colby High School. The bride is
employed as a teller at Central State Bank and the groom is a salesman at
Bauernfeind Office Equipment.
The couple plans to reside at 313 West McMillan, Marshfield.
