Wallace, Mildred (22 May 1909 - 7 May 1974)

Note: Birth date taken from Neillsville Cemetery listing

Mildred Wallace of South Minneapolis, Mn, died May 7, at Metropolitan Center there with a massive heart attack. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Avery Wallace at Shortville May 22, (?). After living in this area, several years they moved to Neillsville, where she attended grade school and a few years of high school. They they moved to Janesville in 1924 where she finished high school. In 1932 the Wallace family moved to Mankato, Mn. Then, in 1943, they moved to Cedar Rapids, Ia., where she was associated in a hearing aid business with her father until his death in January 1946. A few years later she and her mother moved to Minneapolis, where she was associated with a hearing aid company until May 1, when she retired.

Funeral services were held in Minneapolis Friday evening at 8 p.m., with graveside services and burial in the Neillsville City Cemetery beside her parents Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Gary Clark officiated.

Miss Wallace was the granddaughter of Dave Taylor, a long time resident of Neillsville. Mr. Taylor’s mother was a Short, so she has several distant relatives in this area, also, who are relatives of her father. Bruce Bell of Janesville spent Thursday night with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short, and drove to Minneapolis Friday morning and attended the funeral Friday night and the graveside services Saturday.
