Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. Rev. Bernie was born on January 10, 1927, in the Town of Reseburg, rural Thorp, to Henry (Hans) and Justina (Wink) Jacque. After completing his education, Bernie took over his father’s farm, before purchasing his own farm about two miles away. Bernie was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Schommer on October 21, 1961, at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Frederic, WI.

He enjoyed family gatherings, eating and cooking, planting flowers and tending to his garden, fishing, playing cards, riding horses, raising animals, but especially enjoyed spending time with his 10 grandchildren and watching them grow.

Bernie is survived by his three sons (all of Thorp): Joseph (Sheri) Jacque and their children: Ben, Sam, & Max; David “Beaver” (Diane) Jacque and their children: Ashley, Brooklyn & Bailey; Michael (Debra) Jacque and their children: Mitchell, Abigail, Chloey & Paige Patricia; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patsy; one brother, Anton Jacque, and one sister, Lucy Brenner.

The family would like to thank the staff at Oakbrook Health & Rehab, and the Ministry Hospice staff, for the care and support they gave to Bernie.
