Mr. and Mrs. Phil Kibbee of McHenry, Il., are spending some time at their summer cottage.

A surprise birthday party was hosted by Mrs. Walter Backus for Mrs. John Scharenbrock last week Wednesday. JoAnn and Jim Backus presented Mrs. Scharenbrock with a corsage. A lunch was served. Mrs. Scharenbrock received a number of presents. The following were present: Mrs. Edith Backus, JoAnn and Jim; Mrs. Severson, Mrs. Julia Trybula, Mrs. John Lesar, Miss Mary Lesar, Frances Lesar, Anna Lesar, Agnes Lesar, Mrs. Lucille Lunka, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bayuk, Eleanor Bayuk, Mrs. Anna Volovsek, Mrs. Mary Gregorich, Elaine Trybula, the Rev. Michael Mertens. She was presented with two birthday cakes.

Mr. and Mrs. John Pernic, Sr., moved from the Town of Seif to the city of Greenwood last weekend.

May crowning was held last Sunday at the Holy Family Catholic Church at 8 p.m. High school students assembled in the parish center and marched into the church. Queen was Ruth Krainz; the court, Patrick Bayuk and Arlene Debevec, Dennis Hansen and Patricia Artac, Gene Rakovec, and Candace Kaltinger. Wreath bearer was Janet Bayuk. After the crowning the rosary was recited and a benediction was given by the Rev. Michael Mertens.
