Clarkson, Grace M. (Wegerer) Paul (5 FEB 1925 - 10 JAN 2016)

Grace M. Paul Clarkson, 90, of 780 S. Gibson, Medford; A Township of Medford resident, died Sunday, January 10 at Deerview Meadows Assisted Living, Medford where she had resided for the past 29 months most recently under the care of Hope Hospice.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 14 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, Father Phil Juza officiating, with interment at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Chrissy Powell, Melissa Kauffman, Mike, Marc & Russell Paul, Brandon Frey.

Visitation will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford from 9:45 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 14

Grace was born on February 5, 1925, at Medford, to Frank and Mary (Werhand) Wegerer.

She attended Medford elementary schools and was a 1942 graduate of Medford High School.

Grace married Vernon Paul, on February 16, 1944 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford. He preceded her in death April 9, 1989. She married Richard Clarkson, on October 10 2010, he survives.

A lifelong Medford resident, after her education, she worked at Dake Studio, in 1943 worked at Heimerl’s Variety Store and later Hoffman’s Ben Franklin Store for periods of time. She was active in Boy Scouting activities as a den mother from 1952 to 1965. She enjoyed dancing, camping & spending time with her grandchildren/great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford and was a past member of the Ladies of Holy Rosary.

Grace is survived by her husband, Richard Clarkson of Medford; children Roger Paul of Hubertus, WI, Bruce Paul of Stetsonville, Lee (Karen) Paul of Medford and Tammy (Dennis) Frey of Medford; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Schmidt of Wisconsin Rapids.

She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mary (Werhand) Wegerer; daughter-in-law: Ellyn Paul; siblings Arthur & Earl Wegerer, Florence Metroz, and Matilda Jakel.
