Johnson, Lyall Edwin (27 July 1931 - 11 January 2016)
Lyall Edwin Johnson, 84, of Neillsville died peacefully Jan. 11, 2016, at
Neillsville Care and Rehab. Born July 27, 1931, at Greenwood, Lyall was the son
if the late Leo and Thressa (Noah) Johnson and brother to nine siblings. Lyall
attended Greenwood and Loyal area schools. He was employed in his late teens by
Kurt Marg Fur Farm, where he met his wife of 59 years, Margaret. Lyall’s last 30
years in the workforce were with Nelson Muffler and M & E Development.
Lyall and Margaret resided in their home, built by his own hands, near Snyder
Dam for 50 plus years. They loved their country-rich life, gardening, fishing,
hunting, horses and camping. Lyall was the ultimate “fix it” man, repairing and
creating in his garage with little resources. Most important to Lyall were his
family and friends. Kind and gentle defines his being.
Lyall was preceded in death by his parents; soul mate, Margaret; brothers: Lloyd
Johnson, Allen Johnson and Keith Noah; sister, Linda Krause; brothers-in-law:
Clarence Krause, Donald Brandt, Carolos Rosas Gonzales; and sister-in-law,
Margie Johnson.
His survivors include his son, Glenn (Cathy) Johnson; daughter, Gail (Scott)
Daenicke; brothers: Chet (Irma) Johnson and Carl Noah; sisters: Brenda (Bud)
Johnson, Donna Brandt, Helen (Don) Anderson; and sisters-in-law: Delores
Johnson, Sheila Noah, Irene (Bob) Saul and Geraldine Rosas. Survivors also
include his pride and joy, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Lyall’s life will be held at Snyder Park with the spring
blooms.
Live like Lyall did!
