Sedlack, Mr./Mrs. William (Gold – 11 FEB 1969)
Mr. and Mrs. William Sedlack, Colby, will celebrate 50 years of marriage
February 11, 1969. The couple was married February 11, 1919 at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Marshfield. The Rev. H.J. Stehling officiaed.
Mr. Sedlack was born March 7, 1896 at Dorchester. He was educated at the
Dorchester public schools and farmed at Dorchester and Spencer. He belongs to
the Knights of Columbus and the Men Foresters of St. Mary’s Catholic Church,
Colby. He was chairman of the Town of Holton (Marathon Co., Wis.) for 11 years
and a member of the Marathon County Board for 15 years.
Mr. Sedlack enjoys fishing and playing cards.
Anna Kautza was born December 12, 1898 at Marshfield. She belongs to the
Christian Mothers Club at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby. She enjoys sewing
tatting and braided rug making.
Among the places the couple has lived are the Town of Spencer from 1919 to 1920,
where they farmed; Hibbing, Minnesota from 1920 to 1931; Dorchester from 1931 to
1952, where they managed the Dorchester Corner Service and also farmed. They
moved to Colby in 1952 and Mr. Sedlack was alderman for the city of Colby for
four years.
At present he is assistant secretary of the Hull Town Insurance Company.
The couple has four children, Robert J. Sedlack of Alameda, California, Mrs. Roy
(Bernice) Robeda of Stetsonville, Mrs. Lavern (Agnes) Habeck of Oshkosh and Mrs.
Lloyd (Alice) Scidmore of Colby.
They also have 15 grandchildren.
The formal celebration of the anniversary will be held on June 22, 1969.
