Zettler, Michael “Mike” (12 SEP 1966 - 26 NOV 2002)

Michael “Mike” Zettler 36, Edgar, died Tuesday, November 26, 2002 at the Palliative Care Unit in St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield after fighting a courageous battle with Leukemia.

He was born September 12, 1966 in Medford, son of Tony and Shirley (Carter) Zettler, Edgar. On October 24, 1992, he married Amy Kunze in Colby. She survives.

Michael graduated from Athens High School in 1985 and was a member of their wrestling team. He then attended Mid State Technical College and graduated in 1987 with a degree in Diesel Mechanics. Prior to his illness, Michael was employed with County Concrete, Marathon.

He enjoyed Nascar racing and fishing. Michael wanted to be remembered most for being a wonderful father to his daughters. He treasured his time with them and his wife.

Besides his wife, Amy and parents, he is survived by two daughters, Marisa and Mariah Zettler, at home; one sister, Deb Thurs, Edgar; two brothers, Gary (Julie) Zettler, Colby and Allen (Emma) Zettler, Abbotsford; his father and mother-in-laws, Lawrence and Verjean Kunze, Abbotsford and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 29, 2002 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Bernard Raschke will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Wuertzberg.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. all at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Palliative Care Unit in St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield. Michael’s family and friends will remember him most for his many words of wisdom.
