Carteron, Beverly (23 NOV 1957)
Now at home at 214 N. 1st Street, Watertown, are Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Spangler,
who were married Saturday, November 23rd, 1957.
The7:30 candlelight ceremony was performed by the Rev. Charles Rossiter in the
Methodist Church at Oconomowoc.
The bride is the former Beverly Carteron of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), while
her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roman Spangler, Jefferson, Wis.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of white
Chantilly lace and tulle. The full bouffant skirt was of nylon tulle over satin
with three rows of hand clipped lace, set off by a bodice of lace with Peter Pan
collar edged with sequins. The fingertip lace trimmed veil of imported silk
illusion was secured by a sequin and pearl castle crown. She carried a cascade
bouquet of white rosebuds and white feathered mums with white ribbon streamers.
Mrs. Allison Dittmar, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a floor
length gown of Copen blue Danlite taffeta, styled with a long bodice and a bow
bustle on the back of a full skirt. Her hat to march was of feathered rosebuds
and she carried a cascade of pink rosebuds and white mums.
Assisting as best man was Allison Dittmar of Watertown. Carl Natter Jr.,
Madison, cousin of the groom, and Louis Kretlow, Milwaukee, cousin of the bride,
served as ushers.
Erwin Keepman Jr. sang "Oh Perfect Love" and "The Lord's Prayer," accompanied by
Mrs. Edith Olson.
A reception was held following the ceremony in the Legion Clubhouse at
Oconomowoc.
The bride is a graduate of the Greenwood High School and previous to her
marriage was assistant Supervisor of Key Punch Section of U.S. Treasury
Department, Oconomowoc. The groom attended Johnson Creek High School and is
employed at Motor Transport Company, Watertown.
Guests attending the wedding were from Greenwood, Neillsville, Jefferson,
Milwaukee, Lancaster, Madison, Edgerton, Manitowoc, Sheboygan Falls, Burnett,
Hartford, Waukesha, Watertown, Oconomowoc and Barrington, Ill.
Parties honoring the bride were given by Mrs. Sylvester Spangler, Misses Betty
Ducklow, Grace Loppnow, Caroline Degner and Mrs. K.D. Mauer; and by Mrs. Gilbert
Rohde and Mrs. Otto Schwarze.
