Syth, Pearl (28 DEC 1878 – 8 DEC 1957)
Mrs. Wm. Syth, nee Pearl Boon, daughter of the late James Boon and Louise (Hart)
Boon, was born at Christie on December 28, 1878. Here she grew to womanhood, and
on June 6, 1900 was united in marriage to William A. Syth at Neillsville.
They farmed 10 miles south of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) until 1910, when they
went to Montana, where they remained until 1914, when they returned to Wisconsin
and settled on a farm 3 1/2 miles southeast of here. Mr. Syth passed away on
October 19, 1938, and following this Mrs. Syth moved to this city and purchased
the former Ole Johnson residence.
Mr. Syth has been ill for the past year, and since September 1, 1957 has been
staying at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stabnow.
She passed away at the Stabnow home at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, December 8, 1957.
The body was taken to the Hill Funeral Home, where it remained until 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, when it was taken to Grace Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Mrs. Ethel Nulton, pastor,
officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
The pallbearers were six grandsons, Dale, Earl, Kenneth and Richard Syth,
William Stabnow, and Wilbert Adams.
Mrs. Syth is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Lucille) Koenig,
Milwaukee, and Mrs. Carl (Lila) Stabnow, Greenwood; six grandchildren and a
brother, Peter Boon, of Christie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away October 19, 1938; a
son, James, who was electrocuted on June 5, 1938, while employed by Northern
States Power Co.; two brothers, Lynn and Walter Boon; a sister, Zina Boon, and
her parents.
