Speich, Carol Ann (15 FEB 1958)
The marriage of Miss Carol Ann Speich to Wayne L. Barto took place Saturday,
February 15, 1958 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's University Catholic Chapel,
Madison.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Speich, Greenwood (Clark Co.,
Wis.), and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Barto of Richland Center.
The Rev. Alvin Kutchera officiated at the double ring ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a princess gown of white
imported silk, peau de soie. Bands of Alencon lace trimmed with seed pearls
outlined the empire waistline, low scoop neckline, and long tapering sleeves.
Unpressed pleats gave fullness to the waltz length gown. A lace cap decorated
with appliqued flowers outlined with seed pearls held the fingertip veil of silk
illusion. She carried a white prayer book topped with a shower arrangement of
white stephanotis, centered with a white orchid.
Miss Paula M. Prestagaard, Madison, was maid of honor, and Miss Mary Lou Zanoni,
Madison, was bridesmaid. They were identically attired in waltz length gowns of
ice blue lace over taffeta. The empire bodices were accented with bands of satin
ending in tiny bows. Brief matching lace jackets topped their gowns. Their
headpieces with matching circular veils completed their ensembles. They carried
cascade bouquets of shaded blue and white feathered carnations and
chrysanthemums.
Thomas C. Haas, Richland Center, a student at Notre Dame University, was best
man, and Aldis Kakalis, Madison, acted as groomsman. Brent Barto, Richland
Center, brother of the groom, and Maurice Collins, Madison, ushered.
Following the ceremony a dinner and reception were held at the Eagle's Club.
The bride is a graduate of Greenwood High School with the class of 1955. She
attended the University of Wisconsin and at present is employed as secretary at
Truax Air Force Bast at Madison.
The groom is a graduate of Richland Center High School and attended the
University of Wisconsin. He is presently employed as salesman for Prudential
Life Insurance Company in Madison. He expects to enter service in the U.S. Air
Force after their honeymoon in Hot Springs, Ark., they will make their home in
Madison.
