Meinhardt, Oscar F. (22 OCT 1879 – 24 FEB 1958)
Oscar F. Meinhardt, 78, of 2403 N. 20th Street, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on
Monday, February 24, 1958, at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, following a short
illness.
He was born in the town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, Wis. on October 22, 1879,
the son of the late August and Ernestine Meinhardt. He attended a rural grade
school and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On November 17, 1900 he was
married to Miss Minnie Dressler by the late Rev. Frederick Vollbrecht in
Sheboygan.
The couple made their home on a farm at Greenwood (Clark County), Wis. for 18
years, before moving to a farm near Colfax. In 1945 he retired and returned to
Sheboygan. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the Ballhorn
Funeral Chapels. The Vicar Ralph Dipple was in charge of the service. Burial was
made in the family lot at the Lutheran Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, four sons, Milton of Rice Lake; Reuben, Kurt and
Theodore, all of Sheboygan; three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Lorraine) Adams, Mrs.
Juel (Julia) Olson and Mrs. Stanley (Shirley) Austreng, all of Sheboygan; 21
grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and one brother, Otto Meinhardt, of
Greenwood.
One son, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
