Jacobson, Nellie (26 MAY 1871 – 18 MAR 1958)
Mrs. Nellie Jacobson, nee Nellie Afkend, daughter of the late Ole and Helen
Afkend, was born at Edmund, Wisconsin on May 26, 1871.
In 1899 she was married to Alfred Jacobson of Edmund. They resided near
Dodgeville and Edmund for many years. Mr. Jacobson passed away in 1911.
Mrs. Jacobson was known to many of our readers, as was her son Wilson, who
worked at the Meng Barber Shop.
Mrs. Jacobson passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 1958 at Edmund, Wis.
Funeral services were held at a Funeral Home in Dodgeville on Friday, March
21st, with burial in the Otto Creek Lutheran Cemetery. Rev. H. Bestul
officiated.
She is survived by four children, Mrs. Lawrence (Pearl) Fingerson, Harvey and
Wilson, all of Dodgeville, and Mrs. Alva Broden of Edmund; 12 grandchildren; 23
great-grandchildren, and a brother, Martin Afkend, of Lyndon.
Those from here who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Edwards and
family, Miss Melva Afkend, Clayton Afkend, Abbotsford, also attended.
