A picnic was held last Thursday afternoon at the Grace United Methodist Church
for members of the cherub and junior choirs. Because of inclement weather, the
picnic was held in the church basement.
A reunion of the Berrett family was held Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Worden, with a picnic dinner at noon. Also celebrated was the 45th
wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Brandt of Greenwood. Relatives
attended from Neillsville, Milwaukee, Fond du Lac, Rhinelander and Greenwood.
Mrs. Douglas Luther of Merrill spent from Friday until Monday evening at the
home of her mother, Mrs. William Kuester, and with her brother, Leon Kuester and
family. Saturday evening she attended the alumni banquet.
Mrs. Don Warner has returned after spending three weeks in Dan Diego, Ca, at the
home of her nephew, Delmain Flatz, a former Greenwood resident.
Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kuester were their children: Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Novell of Milwaukee, who spent a week with them; Mr and Mrs. Gordon Rollin and
son, Duane, of Milwaukee, who were here for four days; and Mrs. Jay La Bonte and
son, Jay Robert, of Chippewa Falls. While here they celebrated their father’s
birthday on Friday. Additional guests were Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Kuester and Mr.
and Mrs. Norman Liebzeit and daughter, Barbara.
Recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Caliebe were Mr. and Mrs. George Syth and
daughter, Jane, of Eau Claire; Mrs. Helen Hemp of Rochester, Mn; Mrs. Ruby Syth
and Mrs. Willard Allen of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kebl of Marshfield and
Arleigh Syth of Greenwood.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Weigert and son, Joel, and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Peterson of Fond
du Lac, spent the weekend with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie.
Additional Sunday dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. Emory Voie of Fond du Lac and
Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Dyre and Jane.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Petrick spent from Friday until Monday at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Lloyd Peterson and other friends. Satruday they attended the 40th
reunion of her class.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hubert spent the weekend with relatives and friends. Mrs.
Hubert is the former Edna McConnell.
Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Erickson were Mr. and Mrs. Grant
Rear of Trego and Mrs. Wayne Rear of Milwaukee.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dallman and family of Baraboo were Sunday dinner guests of
Mrs. Bertha Dallman. Mrs. William Dallman returned to Baraboo with them after
spending a week with the Dallman family.
Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Goreno and son, Alexander, arrived Wednesday to spend
several days at the home of her aunt, Mrs. John Brezic, before returning to
Sheboygan.
Mr. and Mrs. Duane Olson and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Braun and Donald Horn attended
the wedding of Kai Stevens and John Trygstad Saturday in Sun Prairie. Sunday
they also attended the drag races at Union Grove.
Wednesday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie were Mr. and Mrs. Ren
Jonhert of Eldoran.
Mr. and Mrs. Matt Dergance of Hillside, Il., were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Verschay.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Speich were recent guests at the home of his mother, Mrs.
Jake Speich.
Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tolaney were Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Tolaney of
Stevens Point and Mrs. Joe Jeras of Lyon, Il.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Friske and daughter, Faye and James Johnson of Whitehall,
were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Friske.
Mr and Mrs. Dale Metcalf and family have returned to Random Lake after spending
several days with his mother, Mrs. James Metcalf, and at the home of his sister,
Mrs. Berta Dallman. Other guests at the Metcalf and Dallman homes were Mrs. Emma
Gerlach and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gerlach of Chippewa Falls.
Mrs. Don Warner went to Chetek, where she attended the graduation from high
school, of her grandson, Mark Warner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold (Dick) Warner.
Mrs. Warner spent a day at the home of her daugher, Mrs. Don Telford and family
in Eau Claire, before returning home.
