Trimberger, Mr. and Mrs. Walter (Golden - 18 June 1974)
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Trimberger of 36 Huron St., Neillsville will commemorate
their Golden wedding anniversary Sunday, June 16, with an open house for
relatives, neighbors and friends from 2 to 5 p.m. at their church, Zion Lutheran
at Grant. No invitations are being sent.
At 10:30 a.m. the family will gather for morning church services. A special
prayer will be prayed for them by their pastor, The Rev. Everett Schleef, and
special flowers till decorate the altar.
Walter Trimberger was born at Granton and attended the church’s parochial school
there.
Gudrun Trimberger was born at Kedglen, Valdres, Norway and came to Birchwood,
Wisconsin, with her parents at the age of six.
Walter Trimberger and Gudrun Skar were married June 18, 1924, at the parsonage
of the Rev. J. E. Nord, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church at Rice Lake. They
were attended by Mrs. Odin Wang, Danville, Il., and Thorvald Skar of Rice Lake.
The newlyweds lived for 44 years on the home place which Mr. Trimberger
purchased in 1923. There he operated a service station and implement business
for 40 years. They also built, owned and managed service stations in Chili and
Marshfield.
Walter Trimberger was a charter member of their church Men’s Club, serving as
president and president of the congregation. He was also a charter member of the
Granton Rotary Club, serving in many capacities.
Prior to her marriage Mrs. Trimberger taught school in Clark County for five
years. During the 1923-24 years she had principalship of the Romadka State
Graded School. She has done considerable substitute teaching since.
A charter member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and a member of the
Ladies’ Aid since January 1927. Mrs. Trimberger has served in every official
capacity of the Aid and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a charter
member of the Federated Women’s Club of Granton and served as its county
president for two years. She was a member of the Granton Homemakers Club for 30
years.
Mr. and Mrs. Trimberger both enjoy good health. Mr. Trimberger enjoys fishing,
hunting, golfing, gardening and television. Mrs. Trimberger enjoys reading,
flower gardening, fancy work and sewing.
They have two sons, Atty. Wayne Trimberger, who married Loretta Kotchy on August
17, 1957, was Clark County District Attorney for four years and now has his own
office in Neillsville with an4 associate. Eugene Trimberger, who married Karen
Botnen on June 7, 1956, was a state parole and probation officer for 12 years
and served as a social service supervisor in the Bureau of Indian Affairs in
Alaska for one year. The Eugene Trimberger’s now own and operate the Traveler’s
Motel in Neillsville.
There are six grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Trimberger have lived the last 18 winters at Mesa, Az., where they
own a mobile home in Windsor Park.
