Hemminger, Ivan E. (5 August 1890 - 01 June 1974)
Ivan E. Hemminger, 83, Greenwood, died Saturday in Neillsville.
Mr. Hemminger, son of James P. and Belle (Miller) Hemminger, was born August 5,
1890, in Earl, Ind. When he was nine years old he came with his parents from
Indiana to a farm four miles north of Withee.
He was married July 1, 1922, at Neillsville to Theoline (Mary) Windom. She died
November 20, 1972. After their marriage the couple lived at Wilson for 10 years
and then moved to the Holcombe area, where they farmed for 37 years. They moved
to Greenwood in 1970. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Raymond (Marie) Broden of Burlington, Mrs.
John (June) Crank, Jr., of Janesville, and Mrs. Russell (Betty) Siddons of Two
Rivers; and a son, John at home. Nineteen grandchildren, and three
great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Hemminger of Abbotsford, also survive.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from Our Savior’s Lutheran
Church. The Rev. David Wenger officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons: Roger Siddons, Gary Crank, Lloyd Dawson, Myron, La
Rose, Michael La Rose and Steven Milan.
The congregation sang, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” and “The Battle Hymn of
the Republic,” with Mrs. Don Warner as organist.
Relatives attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Broden and family of Burlington;
Mr. and Mrs. John Crank, Jr., and family of Janesville; and Mr. and Mrs. Russell
Siddons and family of Two Rivers.
