Drost, Lucille (Schupp) (28 JUL 1929 - 4 FEB 2016)
Saturday, February 6 welcomed the kind and gentle soul of Lucille (Schupp) Drost
into the loving warmth of heaven. Lucille passed quietly in the afternoon at
Catholic Elder Care in Minneapolis surrounded by the love of her family.
Lucille was born on Sept. 22, 1929 to Paul and Mary Schupp. She was the second
of 5 daughters in the family. She married Frank (Bud) Drost on Feb. 14, 1953. He
preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1998.
Lucille lived and worked in Medford her entire life except for nine years when
she moved to Milwaukee after the death of her husband and then to Minneapolis to
be closer to family there.
She worked at the Medford Telephone Company, Medford Federal Savings and Loan
(now Time Federal) and at the Taylor County Highway Dept., from which she
retired in 1993. She enjoyed sewing, gardening (especially flowers) and
traveling to visit family around the country as well as attending special events
in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her five children: Michelle (Tim) Kafka of Stratford, WI,
Lisa (Doug) Parks of Minneapolis, Minn., Kristin Drost of Janesville, Pam (Mike)
Printz of Los Altos, Calif., and Todd (Denise) Drost of Woodbury, Minn;
grandchildren: Krystal Kafka, Norwalk, Conn., Kellen (Brooke) Kafka, Stratford,
Ashley (Ryan) Kafka-Lunski, Anchorage, Alaska, Kelsey Printz, Los Altos, Calif.,
Ben Printz, Boise, Rachel, Haley and Tyler Drost of Woodbury, Minn. She is also
survived by two sisters, Rita (Sam) Way of Medford, and Mary (Bill) Luterbach of
Merrill and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sisters, Wilma Zastrow and
Jeanne Surman.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
