Flagel, Arnold Jerome (9 AUG 1934 - 14 FEB 2016)
Arnold Jerome Flagel, age 81, of Wausau, died on Sunday, Feb. 14 at Aspirus
Wausau Hospital.
Arnold was born in Marshfield on July 26, 1934 to the late Arthur and Ruth
(Peterson) Flagel.
He graduated from Marshfield High School and went on to UW-Madison and the
Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. He also served his country honorably in the
U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He married Loretta L. Stanerson on August 3,
1957 in Silver Spring, Md. Arnold operated the Rib Lake Pharmacy as a pharmacist
up until his retirement in 1987.
Arnold is survived by his wife of 58 years, Loretta Flagel of Wausau; children
Lynn Stuve of Lake Mills, Ronald Flagel of Sturgeon Bay, Kathryn Fahl of
Kimberly, and Laura Peterson of Chippewa Falls; eight grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
A Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 19 at Highland
Community Church, 1005 N. 28th Ave., Wausau. Rev. Dr. Ken Moberg will officiate.
Burial will be at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spooner
where full military honors will be given. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 –
7:30 p.m. and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service all at
the church.
Brainard Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to the family or directly to the Highland Community
Church for a donation to the Highland Community Church Building Fund.
