Approximately 200 people attended the Confirmation Reunion held at Our Savior's
Lutheran Church on Friday, May 30, 1950.
The group included confirmands from Trondhjem, United Lutheran and Our Savior's
Congregations, along with present and past members who were not confirmands of
the local congregation.
Efforts had been made to contact each and every confirmand of the above named
congregations. However, the committee was unable to find addresses of some of
them.
Open House was held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., with refreshments of sandwiches,
cookies and coffee being served, while the group visited and renewed old
acquaintances and recalled memories of former years. Letters and greetings from
many who could not be present were posted where all could read them. As many
pictures of different classes and individuals as could be obtained, were
displayed. They proved to be very interesting to many.
The oldest confirmand present was Mrs. Annie Dyre of the class of 1889. She has
been a lifelong member of the congregation. Her sister, Mrs. Ingebor Hogue of
the class of 1890, was also present. Mr. Chris Richelieu of Withee, Wis., of the
class of 1882, is the oldest living confirmand on record. He was not present at
the reunion.
The confirmand coming the greatest distance was Mrs. R.S. Lewis (Arlene Olson),
New York City, of the class of 1921.
Others came from Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis, Woodstock, Ill.; Milwaukee,
Madison, New London, Spooner, Plymouth, Chetek, Verona, Eau Claire, Chippewa
Falls, La Crosse, Marshfield, Abbotsford, Curtiss, Owen, Neillsville and Loyal.
Of the pastors who have served the congregations, Rev. and Mrs. M.S. Egge of
Redwood Falls, Minn., were the only ones present. Their two children, Pamela and
Paul, and Rev. Egge's mother attended also.
The committee wishes to thank each and every one for coming, and all who helped
in any way to make this reunion a success. We invite you to come again and
welcome you to any or all of our church activities.
