Avis Gordee of Milwaukee, Wis., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gordee of
Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), graduated from the parish workers course of The
Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, Minn., on Friday, May 23, 1958. She has
attended LBI for two years and plans to teach Vocation Bible School at Carver,
Minn. for two weeks, and then attend the National Evangelical Lutheran Church
convention, after which she will be Dean of Women for a Junior Camp at Lake
Shetek, Minn., for a week.
LBI is a school giving instruction on the Word of God. In addition to general
Bible study, it offers training for Missionaries, parish workers, institutional
workers, and recently introduced a course for the training of lay assistants to
help the pastor in the work of the church.
Branch schools are also located in Seattle, Washington, Teaneck, New Jersey, and
Los Angeles, California.
