Larson, Arlene M. (21 JUN 1958)
Miss Arlene M. Larson, Madison, niece of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Korupp, Madison,
became the bride of James E. Ellingson, son of Mrs. Louis Ellingson, Greenwood
(Clark Co., Wis.), at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Greenwood, at 2:00 p.m. on
Saturday, June 21, 1958. Rev. Ira J. Tanner, pastor, officiated before an altar
decorated with roses and baskets of yellow and white gladioli.
Before the service Robert Van Tassel, Watertown, Minn., cousin of the groom,
sang "The Wedding Prayer" and when the young couple reached the altar he sang
"We Walk With God." Following the ceremony, Mrs. Donald Ellingson, Marshfield,
sang "The Lord's Prayer." Romaine Ellingson, Greenwood, brother of the groom,
accompanied the songs and played the wedding marches.
The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Erling Larson, Kendall, wore a
floor length gown of Shiffle embroidered nylon over taffeta with a cascade of
back ruffles, Sabrina Neckline, and short sleeves. Her elbow length veil fell
from her lace hat. She carried a white orchid and stephanotis on a white Bible.
Mrs. Donald (Nancy) Ellingson, Marshfield, sister-in-law of the groom, was
matron of honor. Her gown was ballerina length yellow taffeta with a portrait
neckline, and a bow band hairpiece. She carried yellow roses tied with a green
ribbon.
The bridesmaids were Mrs. Erling (Beulah) Larson, Kendall, sister-in-law of the
bride, and Miss Vera Johnson, Janesville, a friend. They wore gowns of mint
green styled the same as the matron of honor, and carried yellow roses tied with
yellow ribbon.
The groom was attended by his brother, Donald Ellingson, Marshfield, as best
man, and the groomsmen were Norman Larson, Madison, brother of the bride, and
Erling Ellingson, Elmhurst, Ill., brother of the groom. Ushering duties were
performed by Everett Ellingson, Madison, another brother of the groom, and
Walker Skaife, Blanchardville, cousin of the bride.
A reception was held at the church parlors following the ceremony.
The bride graduated from the Barneveld High School and has been employed by
Northwest Orient Airlines at Madison. The groom is a graduate of Greenwood High
School and spent some time in the Armed Forces. He is now attending Wisconsin
State College, Whitewater, where he is affiliated with Phi Chi Epsilon
Fraternity. They will make their home at 3147 James Street, Madison, Wisconsin.
