Carl, Marjorie Ann (2 AUG 1958)
Alencon lace over taffeta fashioned the bridal gown of Miss Marjorie Ann Carl,
daughter of Mrs. Irvin Carl and the late Irvin Carl, when she became the bride
of Dr. Ramofis Fahim of Rochester, Minnesota, son of Mrs. Lily Fahim of Cairo,
Egypt.
The double ring ceremony was performed at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 1958
in Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenwood. It was a simple church wedding which only
near relatives and close friends attended. The Rev. Walter Schedler, Bear Creek,
Wisconsin, officiated before an altar decorated with baskets of white
chrysanthemums and gladioli.
Mrs. James Musil, Neillsville, was the organist and Mrs. Donald Ellingson,
Marshfield, sang "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord's Prayer."
Given in marriage by her brother, Harland Carl of Neenah, the bride wore a floor
length gown of tulle with Sabrina neckline and short sleeves. The princess style
bodice was of the same tulle as was the full gathered skirt. A fingertip silk
illusion veil was attached to a bridal cap of shirred tulle with petals of lace
and pearls. Her bouquet was gracefully curved of white and yellow
chrysanthemums. She wore a drop pearl necklace, a gift of the groom.
Miss Barbara Borde, Madison, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Her ballet
length gown of min green taffeta was fashioned with a full gathered skirt. She
wore a matching crown with veil. White and yellow pompons composed her bouquet.
The groom was attended by DuWayne Carl, Madison, brother of the bride. The
ushers were Robert Carl Greenwood, another brother of the bride, and Ed Hillert.
A reception was held in the church parlors which were decorated in mint green
and white crepe paper streamers, and bouquets of mixed flowers at the tables.
The bride was graduated from the Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) High School in 1954
and from the Kahler School of Nursing at Rochester, Minn. in 1957, and is
employed as a Registered Nurse at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester.
The groom graduated from the University at Cairo, Egypt and is a physician at
Rochester, Minn., at the Mayo Clinic.
The bride's going away outfit was a beige suit with green accessories. After a
honeymoon to the Wisconsin Dells, they will make their home at Rochester, Minn.
for a few months.
Guests attended the wedding from Burlington, Madison, Menomonee Falls, Edgerton,
Neenah, Nekoosa, Neillsville, Bear Creek, Germantown and Loyal, Wis., and
Rochester, Minn.
