Pfc. Jerome R. Horn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Horn, who is stationed with the
Armed Forces in Heidelberg, Germany, recently went on a tour. They left
Heidelberg and drove to Zurich, Switzerland. The next day they went to Milano,
Italy, then drove on to Venice, where they took a Gondola and toured the town,
then on to Florence.
The next day they arrived in Rome. They saw Vatican City, the fountain, when the
movie "Three Coins in a Fountain" was made. They also saw the Coliseum and the
church where Julius Caesar was killed.
From Rome they went to Naples and to Pompeii, which is the city that, at the
time was covered with lava. Then on to the Isle of Capri. The next day they went
back by way of the Italian Riviera and back through Switzerland, through the
Alps and back to Heidelberg.
He reports Rome as a very pretty city and Switzerland the most beautiful country
he saw.
