Thorson, Mattie (24 SEP 1876 – 14 NOV 1958)

Mrs. Mattie Erickson was born September 24, 1876 at Winchester, Wisconsin, and was married there on January 21, 1894 to Alvin Thorson.

They made their home at Winchester until 1908, when they moved to a farm near Withee, later moving to Owen, where they resided for the past several years.

Mrs. Thorson passed away at her home in Owen on Friday, November 14, 1958.

Funeral services were held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Longwood at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24th. Rev. I.J. Tanner, pastor, officiated. Burial was made in Riverview Cemetery at Withee (Clark Co., Wis.).

She is survived by her husband, six sons, Roy, Marshfield; Harry, Withee; Orville, Minneapolis, Minn.; Edward, Chippewa Falls; Alvin Jr., Fond du Lac; Gordon, Owen; four brothers, Hjalmer, Erickson, Moorhead, Minn.; Elmer, Adolph and Rudolph Erickson, all of Winchester, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those from Greenwood who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie, Miss Melva Afkend, Peter Larson, Mmes. Don Warner, Einar Jackson and John Speich.
