George Lowe and Lester Woodward were in Granton Friday.

Miss Myrtle Knorr went to Granton Friday for a visit.

Miss Norma Porath of Granton was in the city Friday.

Miss Mormel Wonzer of Granton was in the city Friday.

Mrs. Arthur Clinton is visiting relatives in Fond de Lac.

Father Weber returned home Friday from a visit to Edgar.

Miss Williams, of Granton, returned home Friday from a visit here.

George Rude returned home Friday from a business visit to Black River Falls.

Miss Hazel Lee went to St. Paul Wednesday for a visit with her friend, Miss Marie Weller.

Mrs. Marie Nelson of Minneapolis, Minn., arrived Friday for a visit wither friend, Miss Lily Holtz.

Joseph Decker was in Marshfield Friday. Mr. Decker is now employed at a cheese factory near that city.

Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Frantz of Neillsville came yesterday for a visit with relatives. Bob is helping at the Times office, and his services come in mighty handy just now. – Fennimore Times

Herman Schoengarth, Hale Davis, Frank Converse, Homer Downer, W.A. Campman and Hugh Berg returned from a hunting trip north of Withee Sunday with Herman the only lucky one in the bunch, he having bagged a fine big doe, and Herman too was the only one of the six who saw any deer. – Granton News

Mrs. Henry Seidelman of Neillsville, autoing home from Marshfield, and Lester Chapman of this village, autoing home from Neillsville about 6 o’clock Tuesday evening, met in a head-on collision on the Ridge Road near the Sam Cook home and badly wrecked the two machines, although very fortunately the two occupants of the cars escaped injury. – Granton News

Wm. Holway was here from Madison over Sunday.

Art Wilding was here from Tripoli the first of the week on business.

H. George, of Tiffin, Ohio, who had been a guest of the Harry Neff family, left Monday for his home.

L.H. Howard and W.L. Smith hunted deer near Messen last week and got one buck between them.

Mrs. F.S. Thomas of Lisbon, N.D., is here helping care for her mother, Mrs. C.S. Stockwell, who is quite ill.

Mrs. Mary MacMillan and Miss Beatrice MacMillan spent Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. F.B. Wing at Abbotsford.

Fred Brooks went to the Rock Island Arsenal Monday, after having been home for several days on a furlough.

Mrs. Ernest Hannah received notice last week that Mr. Hannah, who is with the American expeditionary forces, had arrived safely in France.

Mrs. George Zimmer took her sister, Miss Clara Seif, to the hospital at Eau Claire Friday, Miss Seif not recovering form her attack of the flu as well as she was expected to.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob French received a letter last week from Miss Mayme Breed at Port Orchard, Wash., which told of the death of Chas. Breed on Nov. 23rd. The funeral occurred on the 25th at Seattle. Mr. Breed was a former resident of this city and well known here.

John Servaty was here from Owen yesterday on business.

C.B. Culbertson was here from Stanley Tuesday on legal business.

Mrs. F.A. Parsons of Black River Falls is a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Crocker.

Mat. H. Schaefer left on Monday for Maryland, where he will spend a short time with a sister of his father’s.

Miss Elizabeth Kennedy went to Madison yesterday to attend a meeting of county superintendents of schools.

Jesse Leason underwent an operation at the hospital at Eau Claire on Thanksgiving Day. It was found that he was suffering from chronic appendicitis and he is now getting along fine.
