Will Livingston and Carl Lange are sick with the flu, the latter quite seriously
with no hopes for his recovery.
Grant Turner, who was working at Neillsville, is home on the sick list.
Mrs. Jennie Fulwiler spent Friday here with her mother, Mrs. William Rowe.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Root last Friday. Mrs. Root has also
been very sick with influenza and reports at this writing are that her condition
is very serious with no hopes for recovery.
Guy Hales, who has been in a training camp for Uncle Sam, is home for the
holidays.
Ed Voight made a trip to Chili on Thursday. He went after his sister, Mrs.
Martha Dankemeyer, who came to care for her parents, who are sick.
Mr. and Mrs. Emil Schoenfeld went to Neillsville last week Tuesday and brought
home an Edison from Sniteman’s.
Ally C. Turner died last Wednesday afternoon after an illness of about 10 days’
duration with influenza, but stomach and heart trouble caused his demise. He was
36 years of age and leaves his parents, wife and daughter, and a sister, Mrs.
Elva Walls of the town of Loyal. The funeral was held at the home Saturday
afternoon, Rev. E.E. Strevey of Loyal officiating. The burial took place in the
cemetery at Loyal.
