Nancy Curtin of Neillsville has been named as editorial assistant for News
Publishing Company, serving The Clark County Press, The Banner Journal, The
Trempealeau County times, The Shopper and The Arrow Shopper.
Curtin began her part-time duties Thursday, Feb. 25. She is being trained in all
departments to assist with front office duties, customer service and editorial
assignments.
Curtin joins a staff including executive editor JoDee Brooke, editor Todd
Schmidt, office manager Dee Zimmerman, advertising salesperson Margie Zschernitz
and receptionist Nancy Halterman.
Curtin is a graduate of Owen-Withee High School. She spent 15 years in the
Wausau area, and over a year ago, she decided to move to Neillsville with her
pre-teen son to be closer to her family. She is the daughter of Rex and Sue
Roehl.
While spending time with family and friends is important, Curtin also enjoys
reading, crocheting, bowling, volunteering, cooking and baking.
She has nearly 30 years of customer service experience and over 20 years of
office experience. She returned to college and earned a bachelor’s degree in
business administration in June 2013.
Curtin looks forward to utilizing her experience and education and hopes to
bring a “new perspective” to her role with News Publishing and The Clark County
Press.
“I enjoy working with the public,” Curtin said. “I’m extremely excited for this
wonderful opportunity and look forward to the challenge. It will be a great way
to learn more about the community I live in.”
News Publishing general manager Kathy Potter thinks Curtin will be an excellent
fit with the organization.
“Nancy has a great deal of customer service abilities from her past experiences
as a store manager,” Potter said. “We welcome her abilities to our staff and
look forward to our customers and readers meeting her at our office and in the
community.
Editor Todd Schmidt believes Curtin will add another dimension to The Clark
County Press.
“Sometimes our time gets spread a little thin,” Schmidt said. “Having Nancy
Curtin available, to help out on the news end will definitely improve our
coverage and will make The Clark County Press a better product.”
