Sheboygan, Wis. – Sharon Braatz, a senior at Greenwood High School and daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Braatz, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), has been awarded a
top-honor scholarship worth $1,200 at Lakeland College.
The scholarship is for a four year period and consists of annual installations
of $300, payable as long as she maintains a good scholastic record.
Miss Braatz, who is salutatorian of her 1959 high school graduating class, will
enter Lakeland next September. She plans to prepare herself for elementary
teaching or work in Christian education.
Her high school activities include working on the newspaper and yearbook staffs,
participating in drama, and taking part in forensics. She is secretary of the
high school Library Club.
Out of school activities are in her church and 4-H club. She is a Sunday school
teacher, secretary-treasurer of the Sunday school, sings in the church choir,
and has been president of the Youth Fellowship for 2 years. She is junior leader
of her 4-H club and is the treasuer of the Cark County Junior Leaders Council.
