Schraufnagel, Louise M. (Miller) (9 MAY 1920 - 26 FEB 2016)

Louise M. Schraufnagel, age 95, of Abbotsford, WI passed away February 25, 2016 at the Golden Living Center - Continental Manor in Abbotsford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Abbotsford, where she was a long time member. Interment will follow at Abbotsford Public Cemetery.

Her celebration of life will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the visitation until the time of service. Father Peter Manickam will be officiating.

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with the arrangements.

Louise is the daughter of Nick and Rose (Golich) Miller, born on May 09, 1920 in Mason, WI. She married Emil Schraufnagel on August 23, 1939 in Sanborn, WI.

Louise and her husband, Emil, moved to Abbotsford in 1951 from Mason, where they farmed for over 31 years. After Emil's death in 1972, she sold their farm and moved to town, where she resided for 34 years.

When her health started to fail, she moved to Wausau, where she spent four years. In April 2010, she came back to the Colby and Abbotsford area to live out the rest of her life.

She is survived by her four children: Joyce (James) Koelbl of La Crosse, Harland (Kathy) Schraufnagel of Abbotsford, Gale Schraufnagel of Abbotsford, and Deborah (Patrick) Ruesch of Wausau; eight grandchildren: Jean, Jim, Kathy, Mike, Stacy, Clint, Melissa, and Robin; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She is further survived by one brother, Joe Miller of Cloquet, MN; two sisters: Rose Fox and Ann Miller of Mason, a sister-in-law: Carol Miller of Mason, a brother-in-law, Cletus Schraufnagel of Colby, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a great-grandson, three brothers, and two sisters.

So on this day as a family we will be burying our treasure. Thanks Mom and Grandma for you kind, gentle ways, and how you made each and every one of us feel special.
