Neitzel, Elsie (18 Dec 1918)
Miss Elsie Neitzel, the youngest daughter of Mrs. Susan Neitzel of the town of
Lynn, and Mr. Arthur Short of the town of Washburn were united in holy matrimony
at the home of Rev. and Mrs. J. Reiff last Wednesday, December 18th, at 7
o’clock p.m. Rev. Stricker, on account of the illness of Rev. Reiff, pronounced
the words which united this happy pair. The bride was attended by her niece,
Miss Agnes Hollenbach, while Mr. Arno Gotter, a close friend, acted as best man.
The bride was becomingly dressed in a beautiful suit of burgundy broadcloth. Her
maid, too, was similarly gowned.
Following the ceremony the bridal party returned to the home of the bride’s
mother, where a bounteous wedding supper and reception awaited them, the wedding
guests being limited to relatives only.
The bride is an educated young woman of refinement and culture who in her school
teaching duties in various school districts in this vicinity has made hosts of
friends. The groom is a well known, thoroughly reliable and substantial young
farmer, who had built and had ready for his bonny bride a handsome new house.
This happy young pair starts out on life’s matrimonial seas under particularly
favorable circumstances and it is the sincere wish of their host of friends that
they have a long and happy voyage thereon. –Granton News
