Janesville Settlement (2 Jan 1919)

Mrs. Dillenbeck and Mrs. C. Hatton called on Loretta Moorehead in Greenwood Wednesday.

The Joe Lokatick family has been seriously ill with the flu.

Fred Kalkofen made cheese at the Eaton Center Cheese Factory Wednesday for his uncle, Herman Kalkofen.

Erich Schoenherr of Globe was a business caller in this community on Thursday.

Mrs. Al. Flagg and Mrs. Chas. Bostwick spent Thursday afternoon with Mrs. F. Hatton.

Mrs. M.M. Bahl and daughter, Victoria, came home from the Lewie Barton home last Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. M.M. Bahl received the glad news that their son, Victor, has arrived safely in New York. He is in a hospital there, but expects to be home for the holidays if he is able to travel. He was one of the first boys to go and the first to come home alive and well from this vicinity.

Anna and Sophia Waseca spent Saturday afternoon with Mrs. C. Hatton.

Mrs. Chas. Bostwick is at the Joe Lokatick home caring for the family as they are all very sick with the flu.

Mrs. L. Dimler and Miss Anna Waseca called on Mrs. Charlie Hallie to see the little girl which came to gladden their home.

Roy Rowert has gone back to work for Mrs. Kohlman near Willard.

R. Waseca and daughters, Anna and Sophia, were Loyal callers Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. D. Carstenson and two sons autoed up from south of Neillsville and spent Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. L. Dimler.

Mrs. M.M. Bahl called on Mrs. Wm. Rowert last Friday.

We forgot to mention last week that Clark Hatton has a fine new chicken coop and it makes quite an improvement to his place.

Sophia Waseca and Mrs. L. Dimler and Glen Benjamin visited with Mrs. J.J. Susa Friday afternoon.

Mrs. Moorehead and daughter, Annabel, were Greenwood callers Monday.

Otto Schultz of Iowa spent several days at the Joe Buettner home.
