Hewett (2 Jan 1919)

Ole Fields’ house burned to the ground Thursday. We have not heard whether anything was saved or not.

Mrs. H.B. Parker spent several days with her aunt, Mrs. O.E. Bliss, in Neillsville quite recently.

A young soldier came to gladden the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Collins Dec. 24. Clarence Felixes is a nice strong boy and a very acceptable Christmas present. Henry is at Camp Shelby, Miss.

Harvey Fuller and Fred Smith were Christmas visitors at Lon Cook’s.

Miss Gertrude Zimmerman visited her sister, Mrs. Bill Goldamer, on Christmas.

Charlie Marden came home to spend Christmas and will return to Camp Grant in a few days.

Mrs. G. Bruney is reported quite sick.

Dr. Matheson called at Lon Cook’s to see Mrs. J.A. Wood, who has been quite sick the past month.

Mrs. Earl Wood spent Sunday with Mrs. Chas. Seif in Neillsville.

H.B. Parker and Arthur Van Essen transacted business near Globe Sunday.

Paul and Richard Albrecht spent one evening last week with Charlie Marden.

Mrs. Walter Warner is home from Oshkosh.

Mr. and Mrs. Will Dux spent Sunday with Walt Amiden and wife.

Mrs. W. Warner called on Mrs. Henry Collins Sunday.
