Braatz, Christina (5 DEC 1849 – 5 Jan 1919)

Mrs. Richard Braatz died at her home on the Ridge on Sunday and in her passing another of the early settlers of the county has gone to their great reward. She was born Christina Reidel to Mr. and Mrs. John Reidel in Germany on Dec. 5, 1849, and came to this country when a small child. She was united in marriage to Richard Braatz on April 24, 1892, and two children were born to them, a son being dead and the daughter being Mrs. Henry Fisher of Sioux City, Iowa. Deceased is survived by her husband, daughter and five step-children. She was a woman of sturdy character and splendid qualities for she was kind and charitable and her life was of such nature that she endeared herself in the hearts of all those who came to know her well. She will be buried on Thursday afternoon. Services will be conducted by Rev. Reiff at the Garbusch Lutheran Church and interment will be made in the Granton Cemetery.
