County Farm Corners (9 Jan 1919)

Melchoir Hoesly of Dist. No. 3, York and Grant, was out soliciting Red Cross membership last week and secured 56 members, as follows: J.F. Kelley, Mrs. J.F. Frank Northup is at present working for Chas. Peck.

Mrs. Chas. Peck went to Marshfield to visit over Sunday with her husband at the hospital.

Harland Potter and Guy Snyder are hauling hay for George Wilson from the John Lastofka farm.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Potter and Marcia were New Year’s guests at the Norman Schafer home in Neillsville.

Mrs. Emery Newell was staying at the Peck home and attending to the household duties during Mrs. Peck’s absence at the hospital.

Edward Gault, Sr., is helping Geo. Wilson with his chores at present.

Wayne Potter and family were Sunday visitors with the Chas. Brooks family and in the evening they were entertained at the D.H. Rhines home.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Greeler and son, Erwin, and Miss Linda Swantes spent New Year’s Eve with the Schuler family.

Mr. and Mrs. John Aichinger and Mrs. Will Barton of Neillsville were supper guests at the Frank Kubat home Sunday.

Mesdames Kelley, Krejci, Hoesly and Northup visited Mrs. Frank Kubat last Friday afternoon.

Alvina Schoengarth was a Sunday afternoon caller on Linda Swantes at the Chas. Greeler home.

Mr. and Mrs. M. Snyder were over Sunday afternoon visitors with their daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Krejci.

Clarence Bardell and wife of Heintown were visitors at the J.F. Kelley home Sunday. Mrs. Kelley accompanied them home to spend a few days with them.

The Fred Schoengarth and Oscar Northup families were entertained at the Melchoir Hoesly home Saturday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Lavine and baby and Mrs. Kinkelman autoed to Marshfield Monday to visit Mr. Peck at the hospital. Mrs. Peck accompanied them home, leaving Mr. Peck gaining nicely.
