Janesville Settlement (23 Jan 1919)
Mrs. M.M. Bahl and son, Victor, spent Tuesday evening at A.B. Davey’s in West
Eaton.
Mr. and Mrs. F. Hatton, Mrs. M. Dillenbeck and Mr. and Mrs. M.M. Bahl all
attended the school convention at Neillsville Wednesday.
Mrs. D. Moorehead and daughter, Loretta, spent last Friday afternoon with Mrs.
Ed. Keefe.
George Hatton left for Marshfield Wednesday after several days’ visit here with
his brother, Frank. He will spend a few days at Marshfield with his nephew,
Frank Coryell, before returning to his home in Janesville.
Mr. and Mrs. R. Waseca were business callers at Neillsville Wednesday.
Mrs. Chas. Bostwick spent Tuesday afternoon with Ed. Keefe.
Mrs. D. Moorehead and daughter, Loretta, were callers at Julius Halle’s Tuesday
afternoon.
Mrs. Henry Dimler and children of Marshfield are visiting at the Lou Dimler
home.
Mr. and Mrs. S.B. Flagg and daughter and Al. Flagg spent Tuesday evening at C.
Hatton’s.
Anna and Sophia Waseca spent Thursday afternoon with Inez Clintsman.
Mrs. S. Marvin called on Mrs. J.J. Susa Wednesday.
Clark Hatton and S.B. Flagg furnished the music for the dance at Willard Friday
night. J.S. will soon add a few more musical instruments to their club.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Keefe spent Wednesday evening at Al. Flagg’s.
We wonder what Joseph Buettner is up to these days. He has been so busy he
hasn’t even been able to call on his neighbors nor ring them up on the phone. We
know it must be a good purpose, so good luck, Joe.
Maude Pitts of Tioga is visiting her sister, Mrs. Fred Kalkofen.
Mrs. J.J. Susa spent Friday at the Joe Susa, Sr., home in Owega.
Helen Farning called on Mrs. S.B. Flagg Thursday to see their little girl.
Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Stafford were called to Janesville on account of the illness
of her father, Mr. Benedict, and his father, Mr. Stafford, both gentlemen being
seriously ill.
Maude Pitts spent Friday night and Saturday with Helen Farning.
Chas. and Roy Rowert left here Sunday afternoon, Chas. for his home at
Janesville and Roy for West Burdow, where he will work in the woods this winter.
We are sorry to see the boys go.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Halle and little daughter spent Sunday evening with Mr. and
Mrs. S.B. Flagg.
Mr. and Mrs. M.M. Bahl gave a party Saturday night in honor of their son,
Victor, who has just returned from France. The West Eaton Glee Club was present
and gave an extra song service for him.
Victor Bahl called on Roger Dillenbeck Tuesday.
